Spice mustard Maille

the 340 g pot

In 1747 , Antoine-Claude Maille opened his first shop on rue Saint-André-des-Arts in Paris and had a parchment published that signed the official birth certificate of Maille mustards: “The public is warned that Maille has the secrets for the distillation of vinegars and manufacture of mustards “. In 1752 , he became official supplier of the court of Hungary before landing the arms of the King of France in 1769 , then those of Catherine II of Russia in 1771 . The gourmet Grimod de la Reynière designates him as the “first mustard man of Europe”.
